Remember when music really moved you?
Remember when music came from the heart, not as a result of the requirements of record company executives?
Remember when artists were truly distinctive and creative? |

Those days are not over, there are still musicians making music of quality, depth and passion. They are just a little harder to find.
At Sonic Bond we will aim to seek out those artists for you, wherever they are, building the site into a diverse, international online community of artists. Each will get their own homepage, free of the hyperbole they often, understandably, use on their own websites. We'll offer news, concert information and pictures. Best of all we'll offer their CDs and other merchandise for sale through our secure shop.
Fashion will be ignored, as will be prejudices of the mainstream music industry and press. Each artist will be treated the same and given the same amount of site space. So you'll find the more interesting chart act rubbing shoulders with new bands with one self-financed ep to their name. Progressive rock will meet indie pop and heavy rock will exist alongside acoustic folk.
The only "rules" are that each artist must be currently active - this is not a site for yesterday's heroes, though longevity is welcomed (it's a sign of quality) - and should be producing music that is accessible but which comes from the heart, not for short-term gain.
And we want to hear from you. Email your favourite artists here , big or small. We will do our best to include them on the site. If, for some reason, we can't, we'll tell you. We are also happy to consider any changes or innovations you think we consider to improve the site. We are already considering a wider range of products, such as books, T-shirts and digital downloads, so keep watching the site for updates!
Sonicbond also has its own Yahoo group, which can be found at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sonicbond
This is the best way to learn about updates to the site and make suggestions regarding content. All news items will be posted here as well as on the site, and we will reply to all posts as quickly as we can, so feel free to join up, and let us know what you think.
The site is run by a company called Musical Bond Limited, whose Managing Director, Stephen Lambe, brings 20 years Sales and Marketing experience within the book publishing industry, to the business. He also has a parallel career as a well respected Online Music Journalist and Photographer. Read his in depth interview with Norwegian musician Tirill Mohn here* , and an article written recently for the BBC here**.
Lee “Noog” Lavis of Cardiff power-pop band Sal has praised the depth and intuition of Stephens' writing:
“For the first time ever, someone outside the band has actually understood exactly what we are about and what we are trying to create.”
