Your Questions

Question: 1. How do you chose the artists included on Sonicbond.com?
Date: 31 Oct 2005

Answer: A: Very carefully. We listen to the work of each artist before including them on our website. If possible we may even see them live in concert. In addition, each artist must be currently playing live and recording, or ideally both. We rarely include artists who have ceased to operate.

Question: 2. What information does the site have about each artist?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: As much as we can. Each artist has their own homepage, which may include: independent analysis of each artist and item for sale: concert information and news: sound clips: links to the artist website and other independent reviews. Each artist has the same amount of potential

Question: 3. Do you feature artists that are unsigned or just starting out?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: Of course. We are happy to deal direct with the artist if necessary, no matter how obscure. Often we will give an artist a home page prior to the release of their first album.

Question: 4. Can I trust your editorial content?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: All comments are a matter of opinion, but all text within www.sonicbond.com is written entirely independently of the artist concerned. Hopefully you’ll find it informative and honest. Remember, if we don’t like it, it won’t be here in the first place.

Question: 5. Can I buy chart acts from you?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: Generally not, though we do sell CDs by some of the more interesting chart acts when they come under our radar! One day we hope to influence the charts ourselves!

Question: 6. Do you sell CD or vinyl singles?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: Generally not, as we feel that the best way to truly appreciate an artist is via a full-length CD or a DVD. However, we do sell CD singles when there is something different or exciting about it.

Question: 7. You sell quite a few Christian artists. Are you a Christian site?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: As a site we have no religious standpoint, however we do believe that many artists pigeonholed as “Christian” deserve a much wider audience, so we have made this one of our missions as a website. We also seek to “normalize” the much-misunderstood genre of Progressive rock!

Question: 8. Can I make suggestions for artists you should include on the site?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: Yes, please do, via our contacts page. We don’t mind whether you are a fan or the artist itself. We will investigate and reply to you as quickly as we can.

Question: 10. If I email you, how quickly will you reply?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: We’ll reply as fast as we can. We aim to answer all emails within one working day. Generally, we will reply much faster than that. All genuine email enquiries will be answered without exception.

Question: 13. I am thinking of ordering something, but I'd like to hear more clips. Is that possible?
Date: 20 Nov 2005

Answer: YES. We make a £5 for this service, which will get you 5 further 59 second clips from the album, you are interested in addition to any clips on the website, provided the album is in stock. These clips will be emailed to you and are approximately 1000 kbs in total. This charge is refundable against any purchase on the site (not necessarily the album that the clips are from). Sadly, this service is not available for EPs or DVDs. Please give us your request via the contact page, and we will respond within 24 hours.

Question: 11. Can I download the pictures on your site to use myself?
Date: 8 Nov 2005

Answer: Generally no, however all pictures specifically credited "Stephen Lambe" may be considered copyright free, and are available for open distribution. ALL other pictures on the site belong to whoever holds their copyright.

Question: 12. Can I get something from you that is not on your website?
Date: 20 Nov 2005

Answer: YES! We will happily place special orders for anyone, for CDs or DVD, regardless of the subject area. This is a free service, though a deposit is required which is fully refundable against your purchase. Email us with your request via the contact page, and we will email back within 24 hours with an assessment of whether we feel we have a good chance of getting your item, and with further instructions.

Question: 9. What types of music do you sell?
Date: 1 Nov 2005

Answer: A: Potentially, music from any genre. However, we specialize in music from the following broad categories: rock, heavy rock, progressive rock, sophisticated pop, folk and singer-songwriters. Other genres – like soul, classical and jazz – are also featured where there is some sort of crossover with one of the genres in which we specialize. Other types of music are covered far more comprehensively elsewhere.
